‘You feel right at home’
Chapleur “Chip” Vang chose pharmacy as a career because he wants to have a direct and lasting impact on the health and well-being of patients. He will graduate this spring from NDSU’s distinguished Doctor of Pharmacy program.
“NDSU was an easy choice for me when looking into schools. The sense of community and belonging at NDSU is like nowhere else. The affordability of tuition also was a big deciding factor for me,” said Vang, noting his career goal is to be a clinical pharmacist in a hospital or ambulatory care setting.
The NDSU pharmacy program uses leading-edge technology, emphasizes hands-on educational opportunities and its distinguished faculty are among the most respected in the nation.
“The faculty and staff in the pharmacy program are incredible. They all want to see you succeed, but they’re not afraid to challenge you to make you better,” said Vang, who is from East Bethel, a Minnesota township located north of the Twin Cities. “They take great pride in their work and strive to create an environment for students to succeed in school and in their career. There are faculty who come from different backgrounds of pharmacy, and there are countless opportunities to discover which area of the field interests you.”
At the NDSU School of Pharmacy, students gain professional skills, discover their passion and make lifelong connections. The College of Health Professions is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
“The NDSU School of Pharmacy offers students a customizable path to an affordable Doctor of Pharmacy degree with 100-plus career options,” said Jeanne Frenzel, professor in the School of Pharmacy. “The pharmacy program provides students with outstanding classroom instruction and high-quality practice opportunities by pharmacist experts. Personal attention and high academic standards ensure every student is prepared to work in a dynamic environment as a vital member of the health care team.”
Since 1901, the NDSU School of Pharmacy has educated pharmacists who have gone onto careers as CEOs of major corporations, innovators in medication development and treatment, and leaders in their fields. The North Dakota Board of Pharmacy estimates that a majority of pharmacists serving North Dakota are NDSU graduates.
“Prospective students should consider NDSU because of an affordable price, a great education and a priceless sense of community. You’ll feel right at home,” Vang said.
