How did the NDSU MPH prepare you for the workforce? 

Having faculty who had experience working directly in public and primary health linked theory and practice.  I really enjoyed the practicum and the working experience and opportunities it provided me.

Current position

I work at the American Indian Public Health Resource Center as the Public Health Policy Program Manager. I also serve in the North Dakota House of Representatives and am a member of the Human Services and Agriculture Committees.

How are you impacting the health of your region? 

I work for tribal nations across the country to develop and strengthen public health policies and obtain funding for public health programs and services.  I also facilitate community health assessments and strategic planning to assist tribal nations in identifying public health needs and developing strategies for addressing them.
