Jamie Holding Eagle, NDSU MPH student, has been chosen to serve as a delegate to Slow Food USA's Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre 2014 which will take place October 23-27, 2014 in Turin, Italy.

Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre is an international meeting of food communities.  A diverse selection of food will be display from around the world.  Small-scale farmers and artisans will show how they follow food principles of good, clean, and fair.

"Delegates are chosen for their ability to represent the breadth of the country’s food traditions and movement success stories as well as their capacity to take the new lessons, ideas and relationships back to the challenges still to be met at home" (according to Slow Food USA's site).

The theme of this year's meeting is food diversity as an alternative to industrial agriculture, the events will also coordinate with the International Year of the Family Farmer.
