When can I move in?

Residence Halls open for spring semester at noon on Sunday, January 12. Doors will be open and staff will be at the main desk from noon - 9pm to welcome you and check you in. If you are not able to move in during this time period, no worries. When you arrive, simply call the "RA on Duty" phone number which is posted on the main door. They meet you at the front door, let you into the building, and check you in.

When do the dining centers open?

The West Dining Center will be open from 4pm to 9pm on Sunday, January 7. On Monday, all three dining centers will resume academic-year hours

Can I move in early?

How do I get a parking permit?

If you will be parking on campus during the school year, a valid parking permit is required. The cost for the academic year is $185 and is charged to your student account in the fall. Parking permit sales begin mid-July.  Permits are available ONLY at the Parking and Transportation Services website. You will get your parking pass during check-in on move-in day.

Note: You must be registered for classes at least 24 hours prior to accessing the system.

Which meal plan did I select?

You can view and manage your meal plan by logging into GET(also available on your phone - search GET Mobile). Your meal plan will also be viewable on your housing portal.

How can I make a room change?

If you wish to make a room change prior to moving in, contact the Residence Life Office at (701) 231-7557 or ndsu.residence.life@ndsu.edu. If you wish to make a change after the academic year has begun, please contact your hall director.

Should I purchase renters' insurance?

We strongly suggest the purchase of renters' insurance to ensure a student's belongings are covered in case of loss or damage. Please check with your family's insurance company for information.

What is a triple/quad room?

If your assignment is in a triple/quad room, you will see it listed in your Housing Portal.  A triple/quad room is much larger than double room, and easily accommodates three or four people. Generally, there are only three people placed in one of these spaces.  If we are in an overflow situation (not enough regular rooms for all students needing housing) then an additional student will be added temporarily, until a permanent room is available for that student.

The hall dues pay for activities and events planned by hall government and the Residence Hall Association (RHA). Hall government can also use them to purchase items for the hall, such as sports equipment, cooking utensils, games, etc. Activities and equipment are available to all residents of the hall and all students are encouraged to participate in hall government. Lastly, your hall dues pay for the coinless laundry service in your building, as well as RHA Cinema.
