Student Leadership in Residence Life

NDSU Residence Life offers a variety of ways to get involved and develop your leadership skills. Not only will you connect with students on-campus, you will gain a chance to network with peers and professionals locally, regionally, and nationally.

HALL GOVERNMENT
Each residence hall has a governing body comprised of students from their respective hall. Students who are involved in Hall Government receive valuable leadership skills and have a voice in making decisions about their living environment.

RESIDENCE HALL ASSOCIATION (RHA)
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is comprised of two representatives from each of the hall governments and an elected executive board. This group meets weekly to discuss policy, events in the halls and to plan campus-wide activities. The opportunity to become involved at regional and national levels is also available.

NATIONAL RESIDENCE HALL HONORARY (NRHH)
The National Residence Hall Honorary is a leadership honorary that values service and recognition. Students who are inducted into NRHH have demonstrated a commitment to living on campus and creating a home for all students through their leadership and service to the campus community.

LEAD
Members of the Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) Program work to inspire and empower student leaders in a diverse, global community. Team members will communicate and develop respectful relationships with individuals in the NDSU community and learn how to be ethical in their decision-making for an inclusive environment.

WELCOME WEEK TEAM
Want to share your enthusiasm for NDSU, knowledge about campus, and welcome new students to the herd? There are three ways to be part of the team: Group Lead, Welcome Week Guide, or Move-In Crew!

SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (SLI)
Don’t wait until school starts to become part of the Bison Family! Jump right in by participating in the Summer Leadership Institute (SLI)! SLI offers new, incoming students an opportunity to participate in a three-day event that will enhance their leadership potential, create new friendships, and start college on the right track.
