Linens and Bed Sizes

All residence halls have twin extra-long mattresses (80” in length), except for Weible and Burgum which have regular-size twin mattresses. Residence Life recommends all residents bring twin extra-long sheets regardless of residence hall. This size sheet will fit any mattress on campus, making a potential move to a different hall easier.

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) has partnered with OCM to provide students with a convenient, affordable way to purchase extra-long sheets and bedding items, as well as other campus-living necessities. Proceeds from this program are used for events and scholarships in the residence halls!

All items ship directly to your home during the summer and should be brought to campus during move-in weekend. If you are coming from a long distance, and would like to request that your items are shipped to campus, please email Jen Kacere at jennifer.kacere@ndsu.edu.

Lofts

Each residence hall has its own unique lofting option (see below).

Burgum Bed Information

Mattress Size: Regular size twin - 38" x 75". Although Burgum's beds are regular-size twin, we recommend buying extra-long twin sheets. Extra long sizing will fit regular mattresses, plus if you move to a different hall during the year, you won't have to buy new sheets!
Bed Type: Standard oak
Features: Two standard oak beds can create bunk beds
Loft Option: Burgum residents who want to loft their bed, may order through College Loft Services (CSI).These are the only outside lofts allowed in NDSU residence halls. CSI lofts raise your bed frame 60 inches off the floor, and if you want a bunk bed style set up, the second bed can be slid underneath. If you choose to rent a loft, your current frame will be used but any leftover bed legs and/or end pieces must be stored in your room.
Example: In the picture below, one student is using a CSI loft, and the other is utilizing the standard oak bed.
