Ask Me

Who are your role models or inspiring folks?

I am continually inspired by the creative and hard-working design students at NDSU; it is a fun challenge to equip and train them with the latest technologies!

Outside of art and design fields, what inspires you?

I am inspired by all of the opportunities to learn and grow within a research university.  I enjoy implementing new technologies to enhance design thinking, teaching, and research.

What do you wish you had known when you started out in this field?

I did not know that design studio could be a 24/7 experience!

What was your most memorable meal?

Eating freshly harvested venison backstraps with family after a successful hunt is a proper North Dakotan feast.

In your office, you can only have three things, one book, one tool, and one picture. What would they be and why?

The one book would be the cornerstone of the first western universities - the Bible.

If you can only choose one tool, pick a tool that can create more tools - a 3D printer!

My one picture would be a recent family photo.
