CCAF General Education Mobile (GEM) at NDSU
NDSU is honored to be one of the few colleges or universities accepted to participate in the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) General Education Mobile (GEM) program.
As a signatory of the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding for Post-Secondary Educational Institutions (DoD MOU) NDSU complies with all requirements of Executive Order 13607 and the Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Spouses and Other Family Members.
The GEM partnership empowers CCAF students to complete their General Education requirements as a single block, from the same institution allowing for faster completion of their Associate Degree.

In order to see if there are addiditonal credits that can be used towards your bachelors degree, you can submit your JST/CCAF transcripts below and receive a free unofficial review within 72 hours. This is optional and not required to attend classes as a non-degree seeking student.

Courses
North Dakota State University offers a wide range of general education courses approved by the CCAF. These courses are 16 weeks in length.

Written Communication English composition. Applicable written communication courses must satisfy the delivering institution’s writing and composition requirement for graduation. Oral Communication Speech/Public Speaking. Courses that prepare students to present effective public speeches to persuade, debate or argue in a clear, concise and logical manner. Mathematics Intermediate Algebra or a college-level mathematics. Three semester hours of mathematics are required for graduation. However, if an acceptable General Education college-level mathematics course is applied as an applicable technical course, a natural science course may be substituted for mathematics. Not acceptable courses include: accounting; business, consumer, technical, or computer mathematics; beginning or elementary algebra; statistics (taught outside the mathematics department); history of mathematics; and mathematics for elementary and secondary teachers. | Math 104- Finite Mathematics (3)

Humanities Courses in fine arts (criticism, appreciation, historical significance), foreign language, literature, philosophy and religion are acceptable. Affordable In-State Tuition Rates
Get the North Dakota tuition rate of $383.08 per credit- regardless of actual state of legal residency if you're one of the following:
- Active duty military for more than 30 days (includes National Guard and Reserves if active duty for other than training purposes)
- Member of National Guard or Reserves
- Military veteran
- Dependents (spouse or child of a service member) as listed above
- Contracted ROTC cadets
This tuition rate policy includes undergraduates, graduates, medical and law students enrolled in on-campus programs. Students enrolled in online programs pay a flat rate per credit regardless of military status or residency. You must indicate service member, veteran or military-affiliated on your application to receive these rates. If you did not indicate your affiliation on the application, you must apply for North Dakota residency.
