NDSU news submission guidelines
University Relations is proud to provide a platform where the vibrant and inspiring stories of our NDSU community can be shared and celebrated. The following criteria serve as guidelines when considering news articles for submission. Exceptions may be made in certain situations. Alternative news sources on campus include The Spectrum, KNDS Radio, Bison Information Network and college/department news pages.

Stories likely to be published include, but are not limited to:
• Messages from President David Cook
• Faculty awards
• Faculty presentations and publications
• Faculty grants
• Faculty award nominations
• Student academic achievements
• Major campus events
• NDSU department/staff awards and rankings

Stories not likely to be published include, but are not limited to:
• Internal-targeted announcements such as various training seminars
• Non-NDSU-sponsored community events, even if the event is held on campus
• Non-academic student achievement (athletics, livestock, judging awards, etc.)
• Student organization news or announcements
• Classified advertisements or classified-type announcements

Photographs
Whenever possible, we prefer to include a photo with news articles. Images may be submitted and will be considered for use. Photos of our students, faculty and staff in action are ideal. Headshot photos also are accepted and important for some stories.

Faculty and staff head and shoulder photos are taken in Publications Services, Prairie Hall, room 20, on the first Wednesday of each month from 9-11:30 a.m. No appointment is necessary. If you are unavailable during that time, contact Justin Eiler at justin.eiler@ndsu.edu or 1-6550 to schedule an appointment.
