2025 Red River Women's Studies Conference
Friday, March 21, 2025
All-day conference event; Keynote at 1pm
The North Dakota State University (NDSU) Women and Gender Studies Program in conjunction with the Laurie J. Loveland Foundation is excited to announce the upcoming Red River Women's Studies Conference (RRWSC), Friday, March 21, 2025, at the NDSU Memorial Union. This year’s conference theme is "Rethinking Feminist Movements," which was selected to align with the 2024 National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) conference theme.
Rethinking Feminist Movements invites us to critically examine not only what we are fighting against but also how we can reorganize, build solidarity, and reimagine a future where justice and equality are accessible to all. This theme encourages us to think about women’s lives within the context of contemporary globalization, where local and global issues are deeply interconnected. Perspectives shaped by gender, race, class, sexuality, and nationality offer critical insights into how we engage in local and global problem-solving. At the heart of this process is a respect for cultural diversity and a commitment to analyzing injustice from multiple perspectives.
Stay tuned for more information on the Keynote speaker, conference schedule, participation opportunities, and research related to women and gender. We will soon be seeking a broad array of short paper submissions from those interested in sharing their work. Talks can be on any topic related to women and gender.
