CCAST Utilization

XD Metrics on Demand (XDMoD), developed by the University at Buffalo, is a tool for data collection and monitoring of HPC resource utilization. We use it here at CCAST, like most of the other major high performance computing centers in the US, and it allows CCAST staff, PIs, and users to view data about their CCAST usage. It includes metrics like total CPU hours, number of jobs submitted, average walltime per job, and much more. Information is updated daily for all jobs completed at the time of update (NB: running jobs are not accounted so stats may change as long running jobs complete). The link to this service is https://xdmod.ccast.ndsu.edu.

Users can see publicly viewable data in XDMoD by default, but may register an account <HOW> to enable additional features that will allow PIs and department heads to login to their own personalized dashboards and create custom charts and reports. We also plan to add the XDMoD job viewer and app-kernels plugins which, will allow data to be collected and viewed for individual jobs and their performance.

Revisit this page for future updates, and feel free to contact CCAST support if you have questions about the XDMoD service or its usage.
