The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences Herd Scholars program is funded by the National Science Foundation’s Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program, which seeks to increase the number of academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who earn degrees in STEM fields.
This program awards scholarships of up to $9000 per year, for up to four years, to selected Biological Sciences students. In addition, students who receive scholarships are designated as Biological Sciences HERD scholars, and are eligible to participate in academic and career support programs that prepare them for college and career success
