Students host 91st annual Little International Livestock Show

The NDSU Saddle and Sirloin Club is scheduled to host the 91st Little International Livestock Show Feb. 10-11. Little International is the largest student-sponsored event at NDSU with hundreds of students involved in organizing the show.

Little International is a beloved tradition for students and alumni. The event features showmanship classes of beef, dairy, sheep and swine, as well as contests for ham curing and public speaking.

The club is one of nearly 300 student organizations that provide opportunities for students to pursue their interests and develop leadership and organizational skills.

More than 300 students are involved in organizing the annual Little International Livestock Show, the largest student-sponsored event at NDSU. Students gain experience promoting the agriculture industry while developing leadership and organizational skills.

Little International also includes a banquet and dance. Arlyn Scherbenske, owner of the Steele Veterinary Clinic in Steele, North Dakota, has been named Agriculturist of the Year and will be honored at the banquet. He was selected for excelling in his field and contributing substantially to the agriculture industry in North Dakota.

Friday, Feb. 10

6 p.m., Hall of Fame Banquet/Meal, Avalon West Events Center 

Saturday, Feb. 11

8 a.m., Showmanship preliminaries, Shepperd Arena
5:30 p.m., Showmanship finals, Shepperd Arena
10 p.m., Dance in the Chips with “JR Requests,” Garden Pavilion
