NDSU to hold tree planting during Homecoming Week

NDSU is scheduled to hold a tree planting on the main campus Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 12:30 p.m. The celebration is in conjunction with activities of NDSU Homecoming Week and the NDSU Tree Campus USA Committee.

Trees will be planted along Centennial Boulevard, just south of Shepperd Arena. Everyone is invited to attend.

Students from the Woody Landscape Plants course will assist children from the NDSU Center of Child Development as they learn about trees and proper planting. The event is part of a continued educational and hands-on beautification effort for campus.

NDSU is the only university campus in North Dakota to earn the designation of Tree Campus USA through the Arbor Day Foundation.

For more information, contact Todd West, associate professor of plant sciences, at todd.p.west@ndsu.edu or 701-231-6476.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
