Animal sciences faculty member is invited speaker at international conference

Kim Vonnahme, NDSU associate professor of animal sciences, was an invited speaker at the 10th International Symposium on Selenium in Biology and Medicine 2013 held in Berlin, Sept. 14‐18. The title of her presentation was “Effects of supranutritional selenium on growth and vascularity of nutrient transferring tissues in livestock.”

At the same conference, Ely Camacho, a doctoral student studying under the direction of Vonnahme, presented a poster titled, “Dietary selenium and nutritional plane alters maternal endocrine profiles during pregnancy and lactation.” Ely was the recipient of the $2,500 American Society of Animal Science Wilson G. Pond International Travel Award.
