The NDSU School of Music is scheduled to present a special holiday performance of Handel’s “Messiah” Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. in Festival Concert Hall.

Coordinated by Jo Ann Miller, Baroque Festival music director, more than 200 students in five choirs and the Baroque Festival Orchestra will present George Handel’s monumental piece, which has become a holiday tradition throughout the world. Premiered in Dublin, Ireland, in 1742, “Messiah” combines Old and New Testament texts concerning the prophecies of a savior.

The five choirs performing include the NDSU Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, University Chamber Singers, Cantemus and the Statesmen of NDSU.
