Concert Choir tour begins with free performance

The NDSU Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers are preparing for a concert tour of the Midwest. The choir will perform Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at NDSU’s Festival Concert Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

The groups will then depart for a tour scheduled March 14-20 at concerts in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota.

The NDSU Concert Choir, under the direction of Jo Ann Miller, University Distinguished Professor of choral activities, and the Madrigal Singers, under the direction of Michael Weber, professor and associate director of choral activities, are comprised of the most vocally talented undergraduate and graduate students from across campus.

This year's tour program includes the music of Monteverdi, Mendelssohn, Bach, Brahms and Argento. In addition, the Concert Choir will perform "The Tyger," composed by 2013 Fissinger Choral Composition winner Andrew Miller with text by William Blake.
