NDSU Bookstore recertified

Carol Miller Schaefer, NDSU Bookstore director, recently completed the requirements to renew the store’s Certified Collegiate Retailer designation through the National Association of College Stores.

The designation indicates skillful leadership, stewardship and experience in college store operations.

Certified Collegiate Retailers successfully complete a comprehensive examination that tests fundamental knowledge of all areas of the collegiate retailing profession and the ability to apply that knowledge.

Retailers must complete a minimum of 60 hours of continuing education and professional development in the four years since initially earning certification or from the date of the last renewal.

Miller Schaefer served a three-year term on the association’s board of trustees and has participated on many college bookstore industry boards, task forces and committees. She is currently the director of the association’s foundation board and is a director on the Council for the Advancement of Standards.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
