Biomedical research symposium scheduled at NDSU

Sibi

Mukund Sibi, University Distinguished Professor and program director of the Center for Protease Research, has announced an interdisciplinary research symposium, titled “Frontiers in Biomedical Research,” has been scheduled for the NDSU campus.

The two-day event, scheduled for May 30-31 in the Memorial Union, will feature invited presentations by renowned scientists from around the country and a group poster session.

All biomedical faculty, postdoctoral fellows, research staff and students are invited to attend. Visit the center’s web site for details and registration information at www.centerforproteaseresearch.org. There is no cost to attend, but advanced registration is required and includes meals and a poster session. Registration closes May 9.

“Frontiers in Biomedical Research” is made possible by a grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, which also funds the Center for Protease Research. The center was established at NDSU in 2001 and features scientific research clarifying the biological role of proteases and other hydrolytic enzymes in disease. The center includes nine investigators from four departments and has two core facilities.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
