Information Technology Division recognizes staff with IT Awards

The NDSU Information Technology Division hosted its sixth annual IT Awards recognition event March 27.

This year, 11 individuals were recognized as nominees for the Innovation, Collaboration and Excellence Award, and two groups were recognized as nominees for the IT Team Award. Both awards recognize outstanding collaborative efforts and strong customer service in support of the technology needs of the NDSU community.

Daniel Erichsen, interactive technologies consultant, was recognized with the 2014 Innovation, Collaboration and Excellence Award. Erichsen received 10 nominations from NDSU faculty and staff members highlighting his creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to globally connect with professors, researchers and guest lecturers around the world.

NDSU’s Technology Learning and Media Center received the 2014 IT Team Award. Team members include full-time staff members Sheree Kornkven, center manager, and Steve Beckermann, media technologies consultant, and 11 student staff members: Niloufar Alenjery, Jon Antus, Nick Buck, Pavan Chevuri, Puneet Mehta, Glen Peterson, Mary Pfeifer, Rumana Rashid, Patrick Schaefer, Ben Whalen and Zakia Triffi.

The Technology Learning and Media Center received seven nominations, all of which praised the team’s efforts to go above the call of duty to help instructors and students with course projects that incorporated use of technology. The center’s team met with instructors to plan each project and share best practices, and provided students with in-class technology training as well as one-on-one assistance and online resources.

Other IT Award nominees included Vince Anderson, Zach Anderson, Tammy Cummings, Enrique Garcia, Cody Greff, Blair Johnson, Lorna Olsen, Jill Peterson, Luke Prather, Amber Rasche and the IT Budget Database Team.
