Criminal justice faculty, students publish research

Three manuscripts written by NDSU criminal justice graduate students and faculty recently were accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

A paper, titled "Post College Criminal Convictions: A Comparison of Greek, Athlete, and other Student Offending," written by criminal justice master’s student Ella Hein and Kevin Thompson, professor of criminal justice, was accepted for publication by the Journal of College and Character. The article will be published in November.

Additionally, Amy Stichman, assistant professor of practice, was notified that a manuscript she co-wrote with Jill Gordon of Virginia Commonwealth University was accepted for publication in the Journal of Crime and Justice. The title of the article is "A Preliminary Investigation of the Effect of Correctional Officers' Bases of Power on their Fear and Risk of Victimization." The article will be published in July.

Criminal justice doctoral student McKenzie Wood and Carol Archbold, associate professor of criminal justice, recently learned their co-written manuscript titled "Bad Touches, Getting Away, and Never Keeping Secrets: Assessing Student Knowledge Retention of the 'Red Flag Green Flag People' Program" will be published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence’s fall/winter issue.
