Reception planned for Indigenous Tribal Studies director

Yellow Bird

A welcome reception for Michael Yellow Bird, NDSU’s director of Indigenous Tribal Studies, is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grandmother Earth Gift of Life Garden, located across from the Family Life Center’s west door.

Yellow Bird is a professor of sociology. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, his master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his doctorate in social welfare from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
