Impact Grant to fund business library improvements

Chanchai Tangpong, professor of management, and Laura Trude, business librarian, were awarded a $52,749 Impact Grant for improvements to the business library in Barry Hall.

The grant proposal, titled “Establishing the Business Library Collection to Support Student and Faculty Research,” will benefit faculty research and grant applications and support students’ work in the classroom and business community. It will allow the College of Business to add:

· An archive of more than 700,000 U.S. and international company annual reports going back to the early 1900s

· Additional resources for a major business database called Mergent Online that includes international company information, industry reports, historic stock prices, earnings estimates and economic time series data

· An unlimited number of concurrent users for the Mergent Online database, instead of the current five-user limit

· Back files and current edition of Market Share Reporter

· Back files and current edition of the International Directory of Company Histories

· Marketing reference books

· Current industry financial ratios

· Current copies of Hoover’s Handbooks

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
