Animal science faculty member's research featured

Kim Vonnahme, associate professor of animal sciences, had her developmental programming research featured in the January issue of Bovine Veterinarian.

Vonnahme’s research looks at the effects of dietary restrictions at different stages of gestation. The article says that she and other researchers at NDSU are exploring the potential for modifying uterine blood flow and nutrient transfer capacity in the placenta to improve placental function and decrease the incidence of morbidity and mortality and suboptimal offspring growth performance.

Bovine Veterinarian is targeted toward veterinarians, beef and dairy nutritionists, and consultants.
