Diversity community forum scheduled Feb. 10

A Community Engagement Forum, "What is Diversity in North Dakota," is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10, at noon in the Memorial Union Hidatsa room. The forum is a place where NDSU students, faculty and area residents gather to learn, understand and combat social justice and civic issues affecting local, regional and global communities.

Scheduled panel members include Molly Secor-Turner, NDSU assistant professor of nursing, who specializes in adolescent health and community health in rural Kenya; Nate Aalgaard, executive director of the Freedom Resource Center for Independent Living Inc. in Fargo; and Caitlin Johnson, a doctoral student with the NDSU Office of Multicultural Programs who recently created the Diversity Alliance, which aims to bridge the social gap among diverse student populations. The panel presentation will be followed by open dialogue on the topic.

The forum is sponsored by the Memorial Union.
