IT staff recognized at annual awards event

The NDSU Information Technology Division hosted its seventh annual staff recognition event March 26.

Nate Robideau, telecommunications analyst, received the 2015 Innovation, Collaboration and Excellence Award, which recognizes outstanding collaborative efforts and strong customer service in support of campus technology needs. Robideau received three nominations from NDSU faculty and staff for going above and beyond when working with telecommunications requests. All nominations highlighted Robideau's patience, knowledge and positive attitude while delivering effective technological solutions.

Ten other employees were recognized as nominees for the award: Vince Anderson, desktop support specialist; Zach Anderson, classroom technologies specialist; Steve Beckermann, media technologies consultant; Daniel Erichsen, interactive media specialist; Brian Kennedy, system administrator; Micah McGowen, classroom technology manager; Lorna Olsen, instructional services consultant; Luke Prather, instructional services consultant; Jim Sellner, desktop support specialist; and Gary Whaley, system administrator.

The Information Technology Awards program publicly acknowledges NDSU employees who have demonstrated professionalism, knowledge, performance and collaborative connections to enhance campus technology and advance NDSU's mission. The program was initiated in 2008 to recognize staff in the Information Technology Division who solve challenges through innovation, relationship-building and excellent performance. In 2015, the program was expanded to include a partner award, which recognizes individuals from the campus community who work closely with the IT Division to seek new technology solutions and achieve mutual goals.

The IT Division is scheduled to host a recognition reception for on-campus partners on Friday, May 8, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Memorial Union Plains Room. The winner and nominees of the first-ever Partner of Information Technology Award will be recognized during the event. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
