Assistant director of sexual assault prevention and advocacy named

Kelsey Keimig has been named assistant director of Sexual Assault Prevention and Advocacy in the Student Life office, effective June 1. 

Keimig earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, psychology and criminal justice from Concordia College; and a Master of Science degree in criminal justice administration from NDSU.

She has been employed in the Student Life office since 2011, assisting with the Student Rights and Responsibilities program, and she has been a volunteer advocate for the SARA Helpline since 2014.

Keimig’s primary responsibilities will be to plan, coordinate and evaluate prevention and awareness programming related to sexual assault, sexual misconduct and relationship violence, including a mandatory training program for all new and incoming transfer students. She will conduct climate surveys and research projects related to sexual assault, sexual misconduct and relationship violence on campus. Keimig also will provide advocacy and support to students reporting behaviors covered under Title IX, as well as coordinate internal and external services and agency response efforts for reporting parties.
