Research professor named fellow of agronomy group

Carr

Patrick M. Carr, research professor at NDSU's Dickinson Research Extension Center, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy. He will be recognized during the society's international annual meeting Nov. 15-18 in Minneapolis.

The honor is considered the highest recognition bestowed by the society. Members nominate colleagues based on their professional achievements and meritorious service. Up to 0.3 percent of the organization's active and emeritus members may be elected as a fellow.

Carr is an authority on cropping systems and integrated crop-livestock systems in semiarid regions. He directs both conventional and organic research programs. He joined the Dickinson Research Extension Center in 1992.

Carr earned his bachelor's degree from St. Meinrad College, master's degrees from Ball State University and Washington University in St. Louis and his doctorate from Montana State University.

He is an adjunct faculty member in the NDSU Department of Plant Sciences and at Dickinson State University.
