Research infrastructure improvement track-2 white papers sought

Tenured, tenure-track, research faculty and full-time researchers are invited to submit white papers to be eligible for selection as finalist for an NDSU submission to a National Science Foundation Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Research Infrastructure Improvement Track-2 program.

Funding of the Track-2 awards range from $1 million per year for collaborations involving two eligible EPSCoR jurisdictions and $1.5 million per year for consortia of three or more eligible EPSCoR jurisdictions for a maximum of four years. Each participating jurisdiction must have at least one co-principal investigator on the project.

The awards promote opportunities for collaborations among EPSCoR jurisdictions in all areas of science, engineering and education supported by the National Science Foundation. The white papers must address one of two main research themes: Understanding the Brain and Sustainable Food, Energy and Water Systems.

White papers are due by noon Nov. 24, to the ND EPSCoR office at Suite 142, Research 1 building at 1735 NDSU Research Park Drive. NDSU must submit its selected finalist proposal by Jan. 11, 2016, as a letter of intent. A full proposal is due to NSF by Feb. 4, 2016.
