Student-run restaurant to offer St. Patrick's Day lunch

NDSU’s 800 Café is scheduled to serve a gluten-free St. Patrick’s Day lunch on Thursday, March 10, and Friday, March 11, in the Food Production Complex on the third floor of the Katherine K. Burgum Family Life Center. Seating will be from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The menu for the meal is below:

·       Mandarin spinach salad with citrus vinaigrette.

·       Almond crusted rosemary pork loin, butternut squash bake and roasted parsley and garlic red potatoes.

·       Black bean brownie garnished with vanilla Greek yogurt and fresh raspberries.

Dietetics students, Megan Boe and Phil Shermoen, will manage the meal and their classmates will serve it.

The cost is $10 per person and includes beverages. Four-meal punch cards are available for $35. Cash or check are acceptable forms of payment.

Walk-ins are welcomed, but reservations are preferred due to limited seating. The café is open to the public and parking is available in NDSU’s visitor lot.

The 800 Café is operated by NDSU dietetic students and will be open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays, March 3 through May 6. Sherri Nordstrom Stastny, associate professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, is the class instructor.
