Three named to Academic All-League Team

Three NDSU men’s basketball players were selected to the five-man Summit League Academic All-League Team for the 2015-16 season. Student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this season.

NDSU’s two Academic All-Americans, sophomores A.J. Jacobson and Paul Miller, led the way. Teammate Chris Kading earned his third consecutive Academic All-League selection.

Jacobson, from Fargo, has a 3.99 grade-point average in zoology/pre-dentistry. He was tabbed as an Academic All-America third team selection after earning Academic All-District honors.

Kading, from De Pere, Wisconsin, has a 3.82 GPA as an exercise science major, while Miller has a 3.82 GPA as an accounting major. Miller, from Panama, Illinois, was an Academic All-America and All-District honoree this season.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team’s competitions. Faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors of the league’s nine member institutions voted on the award.
