The NDSU Office of Multicultural Programs is set to host "They call Me Q," a one-woman autobiographical play scheduled Thursday, April 21, at noon in Beckwith Recital Hall. Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month will be celebrated in May.

Award-winning actress Qurrat Ann Kadwani will tell the story of a girl from Bombay, India, growing up in the Bronx who seeks balance between cultural pressure and acceptance into American culture.

In her performance, Kadwani takes on 13 roles of people who shaped her life. She will speak to the issues of culture, identity, bullying, friendship and self-love. A question-and-answer session will follow the play.

In addition, Kadwani is scheduled to present a McNair Scholars and Student Support Services workshop at 2 p.m., also in Beckwith Recital Hall.
