In conjunction with NDSU’s celebration of Women's Week (March 2-6), organizers have planned a book drive for women living at the Dakota Women’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center in New England, N.D.

“We are looking for donations of new or gently used books,” said Jane Vangsness, alcohol and other drug coordinator. “The Dakota Women’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center is in great need of current and quality reading materials for their inmates.”

Most books including novels, history, non-fiction, fiction and self-help will be accepted. Traditional textbooks will not be accepted.

Monetary donations will be accepted and used to purchase periodical subscriptions (magazines, newspapers) for the center. Donations will be accepted only at women's week events.

Books can be dropped off at the collection box in the Memorial Union, located across from the NDSU Bookstore. Books and donations also will be accepted at all Women's Week events.

Women's Week has occurred at NDSU for 27 years. The week consists of various service projects, speakers and discussions about the advancement of women in our society.
