Kim Bromley, professor of visual arts, has been invited to exhibit work as part of the 50th anniversary of the North Dakota Council on the Arts.

Bromley’s oil painting on paper, “Back to the Pond: A Clear Day,” is scheduled be exhibited at the Heritage Center in Bismarck, North Dakota, from Oct. 28, to April 30, 2017. Another work, an oil painting on paper, “Back to the Pond: Spring,” is set to be part of a touring exhibition at six different venues throughout the state from September to December 2018.

He also will exhibit a solo show at the Lakes Region Arts Council Gallery in the River Inn at 133 S. Mill St., Fergus Falls, Minnesota. His work, “Back to the Pond,” is a series of abstract mixed media paintings influenced by the color, light and forms of the pond he lives by in rural Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.

The solo exhibition is scheduled for Aug. 9-Sept. 29. The gallery is set to host an artist reception on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 5 p.m.

Bromley joined the NDSU faculty in 1996. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista College, his master’s degree at the University of Northern Iowa and his Master of Fine Arts at Southern Illinois University.
