Visiting Hindu monk to give lecture

Swami Sarvapriyananda is scheduled to present “Practicing Peace in the wake of 9/11: A Vedantic approach” Sunday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m. in Festival Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Sarvapriyananda is a monk of Ramakrishna Order in India. He belongs to the Advaita Vedanta school of Hinduism and gives frequent presentations about religion and spiritual life.

Vedanta is the philosophical foundation of Hinduism, and is seen as the basis of religious harmony in India.

The presentation is organized by the NDSU Office of Multicultural Programs, Center for Interfaith Projects, Concordia College’s Forum on Faith and Life, Indo-American Association of the Great Plains, M-State Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
