Northern Crops Institute hosts buyers from India, South Korea

The Northern Crops Institute, located on the NDSU campus, is scheduled to host food-grade soybean buyers from India and South Korea Oct. 10-14. During the course, the 14 participants will hear speakers and panel discussions from suppliers located in the region. There also will be tours and a farm visit.

The purpose of the course is to provide soybean buyers with the latest risk management tools for procuring soybeans from the northern grown crops region, and a better understanding of soybeans as it relates to handling, storage, transportation and quality characteristics.

The institute supports regional agriculture and value-added processing by conducting educational and technical programs that expand and maintain domestic and international markets for northern-grown crops. It is funded by the states of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota and commodity groups in those states and Montana.
