Accounting faculty to publish research paper

NDSU College of Business faculty members Margaret Andersen and Michael J. Peterson are co-authors of a paper accepted for publication.

Andersen, professor of accounting and director of the master of accounting program, and Peterson, assistant professor of accounting, co-wrote “What factors affect the valuation of reward objects?” with Casey Rowe of Purdue University. The paper will appear in the Journal of Behavioral Studies in Business, a Cabell-listed journal.

Andersen earned her bachelor’s degree at Huron College, South Dakota; her Master of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion; and her doctorate in accounting from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research interests include organizations’ socially responsible actions and their consequences.

Petersen earned his bachelor’s degree, MBA and master’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. He earned his doctorate in business administration at the University of Iowa. His research interests include intermediate accounting and strategic cost management.
