NDSU Lions club gathers items for children in need

The NDSU Lions club recently bought, packed and donated 89 duffle bags for foster children in need through the Cass County Child Service. The group plans to distribute the bags on Tuesday, May 2.

“These bags will help children going through rough times feel loved. The bags keep their belongings from being packed into a garbage bag every time they are re-homed or moved,” said zoology graduate student Nik Snyder, a Lions club member.

The organization raised about $2,300 to buy a variety of bags for girls and boys. The bags were filled with personal toiletry items, a spare shirt, a toy or school notebook and a personal hand-written letter from a NDSU Lions club member.

For more information, visit the group’s Facebook page at NDSULions. Students interested in joining can contact the membership chairs at megan.schwalbe@ndsu.edu or matthew.bolgrean@ndsu.edu.
