NDSU’s official fourth week enrollment shows a 5 percent increase in first-time freshmen. The 2,633 total is the second highest in NDSU history, just below the 2,661 in 2008. The freshman class ACT scores remain consistent at 24, and the high school GPA average rose from 3.43 in the past few years to 3.47. Fifty-three percent of the freshman class had high school GPAs of 3.5 or higher and 33 percent had GPAs of 3.75 and higher.

The total head count enrollment is 14,358 undergraduate, graduate and professional students. The half percentage point decrease (from 14,432) in head count is due to a rise in graduation rates (last spring's graduating class was the largest in NDSU history) and a decline in part-time enrollment. Full-time, on-campus enrollment increased by 97 students.

“Our enrollment continues as planned, via intentional retention efforts, graduate student recruitment and undergraduate recruitment,” said Provost Beth Ingram. “We’re pleased to see full-time enrollment increasing.”
