Center executive director named

Dana “Dane” Skow has been hired as the executive director of the Center for Computationally Assisted Science and Technology, known as CCAST. He will begin his position at NDSU on Oct. 23.

Skow brings more than 25 years of experience in high-performance computing and large volume, high-velocity data-driven research, including positions at the University of Colorado-Boulder, University of Wyoming, the National Science Foundation, Argonne National Lab and Fermilab. He has been involved with a number of national and International organizations, including TeraGrid, Open Science Grid, Global Grid Forum, Research Data Alliance and the Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation.

Skow earned his doctorate in high energy physics from the University of Rochester, New York, and an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics from Augustana College, Illinois. He is a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who has lived in the Chicago area most of his career.
