NDSU to offer Introduction to Entrepreneurship course

NDSU’s College of Business is set to offer its first Introduction to Entrepreneurship course for the spring 2018 semester. Registration is now available.

Students from all areas of study are invited to enroll. Currently, students in majors ranging from psychology to engineering to all majors within the College of Business are ready to take the course.

“Whether someone wants to start their own business or work for someone else, in today's world, innovative thinking is a part of being successful,” said Paul Brown, senior lecturer of marketing and management and co-teacher of the course. “We will look at where innovative ideas come from, how to become better at generating them and how to evaluate those ideas.”

The course will cover all aspects of entrepreneurship, including basic business principles that apply to start-up companies.

“It will combine lectures, learning exercises and guest speakers to offer students a number of different perspectives on entrepreneurship,” said Brown.

The course is in step with the entrepreneurship and innovation endowment set up in the College of Business in 2016. It encourages students to pursue big ideas and innovative thinking and activity.

NDSU’s first full day of classes for the spring 2018 semester is Tuesday, Jan. 9. The course number is BUSN 299.
