Program to receive NDSU Diversity Impact Award

The Intensive English Language Program, under the coordination of Carol Bishop, is the recipient of the NDSU Diversity Impact Award.

The campus community is invited to celebrate this year’s honoree on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at noon in the Memorial Union’s Century Theater, during the Tapestry of Diverse Talents induction ceremony.

Housed within the Department of Modern Languages, the Intensive English Language Program has served English language learners at NDSU for 30 years. Its mission is to assist NDSU students whose first language is not English in developing their language proficiency and academic skills, helping them prepare for academic success. The program contributes to diversity and inclusion at NDSU by creating an educational environment where all student participants feel welcome, respected and safe.

The Diversity Impact Award was developed in 2007 with the intent of recognizing NDSU departments, committees, student groups and programs that enhance the campus community by promoting diversity and inclusion.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.

Student Focused. Land Grant. Research University.
