NDSU is set to celebrate International Week Feb. 26 through March 2. Many activities and events are planned during the week.

“I encourage students, faculty and staff to attend International Week events as they provide the opportunity to learn about a variety of cultures whether it be through art, dance, food, language, or story-telling,” said Alicia Kauffman, director of International Student and Study Abroad Services. “Being on a university campus, we have unique opportunities at our disposal to challenge ourselves to learn about new things. During this week, we celebrate the cultural diversity that contributes to NDSU’s vibrant community.”

Featured events include:

Monday, Feb. 26

The Parade of Nations, an event where international students carry the flags of their home countries, is scheduled for noon in the Memorial Union and will conclude in the Badlands room. Refreshments will be served following the Parade of Nations.

Wednesday, Feb. 28

International students and students who have studied abroad will share their experiences during a “Day in the Life” panel at noon in the Memorial Union Mandan room. Refreshments will be served.

 Thursday, March 1

At “Diversi-tea,” attendees can learn about the tea plant, try different types of tea and discover how tea relates to diversity at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Mandan room. Participants can bring a mug to take home a cup of their favorite tea.

In addition, NDSU’s Dining Centers will feature global cuisine, and the International Student and Study Abroad Services office in Memorial Union 116 will offer activities, trivia contests and prizes throughout the week.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
