The Department of Biological Sciences and the USDA-APHIS-WS National Wildlife Research Center are set to host a seminar by Jay Boulanger, assistant professor of wildlife ecology and human dimensions at the University of North Dakota.

Boulanger is scheduled to present “Oh Deer! Managing Charismatic Wild Mammal Populations and Disease in Human-Dominated Landscapes” Friday, March 9, at 3 p.m. in Loftsgard 114.

Boulanger’s lab works to answer applied questions that help inform wildlife management and policy decisions. Some concepts include spatial and temporal use of landscape features, population dynamics, habitat selection and behavior. He is the co-adviser of the UND student chapter of The Wildlife Society.

He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Vermont, master’s degree in wildlife science from South Dakota State University and doctorate in wildlife science at Cornell University.
