Agriculture honor society Gamma Sigma Delta is scheduled to host its first annual student and faculty symposium Thursday, April 12, from noon to 3:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union’s Hidatsa room.

The event will be followed by the chapter’s business meeting and induction of new members. Students and faculty also will be presented with awards.

“The audience will learn about recent developments in agricultural research,” said Birgit Pruess, professor of microbiological sciences and chapter president. “The symposium is open to NDSU students and employees, the business meeting is for Gamma Sigma Delta members and new inductees.”

Gamma Sigma Delta is the oldest and largest honor society of agriculture, with more than 50 local chapters dedicated to recognizing academic achievements and accomplishments of students, faculty members, alumni, or industry and university supporters in agriculture and related fields. The NDSU chapter promotes and recognizes high achievements through research and service in many areas of agriculture.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
