The Northern Plains Ethics Institute at NDSU, Lehigh University and the International Academy of Medical Ethics and Public Health are set to host the Controversies in Bioethics Seminar, scheduled for April 13-14 at Lehigh University.

The seminar focuses on new or perennial controversies regarding subject areas, values and principles of bioethics.

Papers include the topics of race and bioethics, death and dying, international perspectives on feminist bioethics, genetic engineering, and other bioethical controversies.

A number of seminar papers will appear in two special issues of the International Academy of Medical Ethics and Public Health’s Elsevier journal, Ethics, Medicine, and Public Health.

Institute director Dennis Cooley, NDSU professor of philosophy and ethics, and Dena Davis and Lloyd Steffen of Lehigh University will be the editors of the issues.
