Student-run 800 Cafe set to serve last lunch of semester

NDSU’s 800 Caféis scheduled to serve its last lunch of the semester. The meal is set for Thursday, April 26, in the Food Production Complex on the third floor of the Katherine K. Burgum Family Life Center. Seating is from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. 

The menu is: 

·     Greek salad with a slice of warm ciabatta bread from Breadsmith

·     Herb-marinated grilled chicken

·     Zesty quinoa salad

·     Roasted green beans topped with roasted almonds

·     Chocolate truffle dessert with a fresh mint leaf and fresh raspberries

Dietetics students McKenzie Schaffer and Alyssa Schroeder will manage the meal with the help of their classmates.

The cost is $10 per person and includes beverages. Cash or check are acceptable forms of payment.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservationsare preferred due to limited seating. The café is open to the public and parking is available in NDSU’s visitor lot on the south side of the Memorial Union. The Katherine K. Burgum Family Life Center is connected to the Memorial Union.

The 800 Café is operated by NDSU dietetic students. All meals are under 800 calories. Sherri Nordstrom Stastny, associate professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences, is the class instructor.
