David Faber, an 83-year-old Holocaust survivor, author and lecturer, is scheduled to give presentations at NDSU on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 27 and 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Festival Concert Hall. Through the support of Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation and Fargo Public Schools, both talks are free and open to the public.

Faber survived nine Nazi concentration camps from 1939-45. He witnessed the murders of his parents, brother Romek and five of his six sisters. When he was liberated in 1945 from the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen, he was 18 years old and weighed 72 pounds.

Faber now lives in San Diego with his wife, Lina. His autobiographical book, “Because of Romek: A Holocaust Survivor’s Memoir,” is required reading at many academic institutions and will be available at his lectures. He has spoken to more than 7,500 students.

Faber previously visited Fargo in 2006 and 2007. On this trip, Faber also is scheduled to speak Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fargo South High School auditorium.
