Business students attend entrepreneurship conference

NDSU College of Business students attended the Midwest Entrepreneurship Conference April 6-7 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Twelve NDSU students were selected to attend after applying. They networked with entrepreneurs and other students from campuses across the Midwest.

“I learned from many successful entrepreneurs themselves, grew my network and bonded with my peers from NDSU,” said Nancy Nygo, a senior majoring in business administration. “It was amazing to be in a room with many entrepreneurial like-minded people.”

Half of the NDSU students were enrolled in the college’s Introduction to Entrepreneurship course, which is part of the college’s new entrepreneurship minor. The minor, introduced this year, is meant for students from any area of study. The second course in the program, Entrepreneurship Toolbox I will be offered this fall.

The conference was in step with the college’s focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, including an endowment set up in the College of Business in 2016. It encourages students to pursue big ideas and innovative thinking and activity.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
