Patnode to perform at Studio 222

Matthew Patnode, associate professor of saxophone, has two performances lined up at Studio 222 in Fargo. On Monday, Oct. 5, he will perform with the Allen Carter Big Band, a group made up of some of Fargo’s finest jazz musicians. The performance begins at 8 p.m. and there is a $5 cover. Patnode also will perform at Studio 222 on Friday, Oct. 9, with the Simon Rowe Trio.

Located at 222 Broadway, Studio 222 features live jazz every weekend and features regional guest artists.

Patnode and fellow music faculty members Jeremy Brekke (trumpet) and Kyle Mack (trombone) also will present an “Early Bird” workshop with the Jazz Arts Group Big Band on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at West Fargo High School. They will spend the day in clinics with eight regional high school bands, helping them become better jazz musicians.
